NordicTrack Elite 9700 PRO Review
Why haven’t we given a five-star review? Unless you need the extra-wide track and extra-powerful 4.25 HP motor, we think it’s best to spend less on a similar high-quality NordicTrack treadmill. This unit costs just over $2000 during the brand’s summer sale.
What We Like:
- Display: The NordicTrack Elite 9700 boasts a 10″ touchscreen. With the built-in Android web browser you can read email, use Facebook, and otherwise surf online while burning plenty of calories.
- Workout programs: The Elite 9700 PRO features built-in programs plus iFit Live. The built-in programs include 36 workouts that were designed by a certified personal trainer. The iFit Live technology lets trainees download additional workouts to target weight loss, wellness, circuit training, and performance. iFit also lets people virtually run along Google Maps trails and train with Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser weight loss show.
- Cushioned Track: The roomy 60″ x 20″ track features QuadFlex™ Precision Calibration Cushioning. Depending on the individual user’s preference, it can be set to nine different firmness levels – all of which reduce the impact on one’s body compared with road training. The top level provides about 24% impact reduction.
- Incline & Decline: The track can incline up to 15% and decline by up to 3%. Set the grade yourself or let the treadmill respond to preset workouts.
- Motor: This unit’s 4.25 HP motor is truly commercial-grade. It has high-grade wiring, superior insulation, a thermal cut-off switch and other features that help ensure safety, quiet operation and durability.
- Audio: An iPod dock and 3” speakers provide high-fidelity audio entertainment.
- Extras: A heart rate monitor and industry-leading 8″ console fan are included on the Elite 9700.
- Space-saving: This deluxe model can be vertically folded to conserve space. Patented Airlight assistance makes this an easy process.
- Warranty: This treadmill is designed for lifelong use. It includes a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, seven years on other parts, and two years of service.

Our Verdict:
NordicTrack’s Elite 9700 is a top luxury treadmill. It’s built to last a lifetime and customers truly enjoy using it: they appreciate the program variety and liken running on its track to “running on air.”
If this treadmill isn’t within your price range, remember that it’s meant for people who require an extra-wide track and a very powerful motor. If you aren’t an especially large person, maybe check out NordicTrack’s other treadmills. You can find very similar fitness machines that cost less.
